Pragmatic disruption anyone?  My client is a global communications company that empowers clients to connect with audiences in ways that are both meaningful and relevant.  They are seeking a Senior Visual Designer to participate in leading edge, forward visioning, beautiful designs that delight and fulfill their client.

Day to day you’ll be doing things like:

  • Formulate layout design/presentation approach, and specify material details,  such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics, animation, video and sound
  • Complete projects and layouts within budget and scheduling requirements
  • Meet deadlines within fast paced, multiple project timetables
  • Confer with creative, art, copy-writing, and/or production department team to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts
  • Work well in a team structure
  • Provide input in approaching presentations, suggesting styles/techniques based on client requirements, objectives, budget, background information,
  • Present design solutions to creative director for final approval before delivering the final layout to clients
  • Review illustrative material to meet standards and specifications
  • Attend photo shoots and printing sessions to ensure that final products/deliverables are obtained
  • Create custom illustrations or other graphic elements
  • Ability to create, manage and deliver digital and print files for final posting and printing
  • Prepare detailed storyboards showing sequence and timing of story development
  • Participate in the development of innovative designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts for accounts and new business presentations
  • Actively engage in creative brainstorming sessions for new program development both internally and with clients
  • Mentor freelancers and design interns within their areas to help them achieve their career development and objectives
  • Partner with members of cross-functional teams including account team members, production designers, and other designers to deliver creative according to agency standards
  • Implement design and layout skills for broad spectrum of print and digital deliverables

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or closely related field, or foreign degree equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience within a marketing agency or in-house department setting and within the healthcare, IT, and/or communications environment
  • Experience in leading the development of innovative designs, concepts, and layouts for online and offline content
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite to execute creative design deliverables
  • Highly organized to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Strong problem solving skills to develop creative design solutions to meet client and internal project needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
